In Ankrom Moisan's 34 years of experience with multifamily housing, they have developed a passion for affordable housing. Now more than ever, Seattle is in desperate need of more affordable units, and working with developers to provide quality, safe spaces for those in need is part of the firm's vision. Part of a qualifications package for a new affordable housing project in the Mt. Baker neighborhood, this cover letter communicates the heart of why we wanted to help the developer achieve their goals, not just what we do and how we do it.

As Seattle’s neighborhoods are responding to new zoning, new access to quality transit, and the effects of steep rent prices, the Mt. Baker Gateway Project is an important endeavor. We are passionate about being part of the solution to help those facing homelessness and hunger, and express this through our work in affordable housing and community involvement with Food Lifeline and the Salvation Army.

Building upon our familiarity with the Mt. Baker neighborhood, our team’s site visit (fortuitously scheduled on a rare sunny day) provided insight into the character of the Mt. Baker Village and the “Gateway” concept. We’ve included a few of our initial observations and thoughts about The Maddux and 2800 MLK to provide some insight into our process, but the missing piece is your input.
